It has been a minute since Elon Musk’s ex Grimes, the mother of three of his children, has spoken publicly about their relationship. Grimes has been locked in a legal battle over the past year which, according to a recent post from her on Elon Musk’s own network (X), has taken a toll on her and made the once ‘love of her life’ become ‘unrecognizable’ to her.
In years past, ‘Grimes discussed her relationship with Elon Musk on Twitter/X’ would have been the furthest thing from news but given how omnipresent Elon Musk is these days, having worked his way into the literal White House, it is newsworthy enough to hear about what is going on behind the scenes in his life.
This was all in response to a fan of hers saying she should release her new work as a ‘Book 1’ and that way she wouldn’t be stuck having to make anything new. In response, Grimes had the X equivalent of a ‘trauma dump’ where she talked at length about her life lately. She replied on X, saying “after everything I’ve been thru – I am keeping the best of book 1 for the new stuff but I’ve never been better in my life than right now, and I spent a lot of my time off with babies getting in my ten thousand hours of creative writing and mastering the art which I’ve never had.
Then came the Elon stuff… Grimes wrote:
Having babies rips you apart and puts you back together. Babies are ten thousand philosophy classes of s— you can only learn from that experience. Spent a year locked in battle in a state with terrible mothers rights having my instagram posts and modeling used as reasons I shouldn’t have my kids and fighting and detaching from the love of my life as he becomes unrecognizable to me, with a fraction of his resources (or iq/ strategy experience), all the while I didn’t see one of my babies for 5 months. And this is only what can be said publicly, since most of my experience these last years should remain behind closed doors.”
Sadly, Grimes’ claim that she couldn’t see (at least one of) her kids is nothing new and this has been in the news for a while. This piece of news has been particularly troubling to parents across the world trying to imagine what that must be like for her.
Of all places, it’s certainly interesting for Claire “Grimes” Boucher to be sharing this update on X which her ex Elon owns and operates in a way that has in the past skewed the algorithm to make him omnipresent and in everyone’s feeds.
